Welcome to Jentin Racing.Based just to the south of Gloucester on a modern business park Jentin Racing Ltd are a motorsports company that operate as a race team within the British Superbike Championship. Formed at the start of 2001 to compete in the Junior Superstock class with rider Tim Lerego, the team’s progress quickly gathered pace moving on the next year to European Superstock running at the front at both Monza and Assen with Luke Quigley on board. First outright wins and the Thruxton lap record came in 03 where Matt Llewellyn battled all season for outright championship honours on the Lloyds British backed Suzuki's. The inevitable move up into Superbikes came in 04 where a very much up and coming James Ellison agreed to ride for the team. A quite sensational season followed where win after win in the Superbike Cup led inevitably to outright championship victory. Along the way the team also found time to compete in a couple of rounds of the World Superbike Championship taking a quite incredible three top ten finishes along the way. With James moving on into Moto GP Jentin Racing decided that having now won the Superbike Cup the concentration from that point on should be the main British Superbike class where they would be in direct competition, point for point, against some of the best factory backed race teams in the world. This position continues to this day where current rider Simon Andrews, using Lloyds British backed Yamahas, has claimed several hard fought top ten places during an exciting and dramatic 07 season. For 2010, we are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with BMW Motorrad UK to enter the BMW S 1000 RR in two national motorcycle racing classes. This is the first time that BMW Motorrad UK has directly supported a competitive motorcycle in the British national championship. Richard Cooper will be racing in the 2010 Metzeler 1000 Superstock national championship, while team mate, and former National Superstock champion, Steve Brogan will contest the 2010 MCE British Superbike EVO class. Bernie Toleman, our Manager here at Jentin Racing, said: “We are extremely pleased to have the support of BMW Motorrad UK. The all-new BMW S 1000 RR clearly stands out and, together with the overall specification and its power, it seems the perfect choice for both Superstock, and the stock-engine British Superbike EVO class. With Richard and Steve aboard we have certainly put together a package strong enough to challenge for top honours in both championships.” |
